VDMA is an acronym derived from the Latin slogan “Verbum Domini Manet in Aeternum,” meaning “the Word of the Lord remains forever.” This slogan was widely used during the Lutheran Reformation and is rooted in biblical passages such as Isaiah 40:8 and 1 Peter 1:24-25. These passages highlight the eternal faithfulness of God and his living Word. The Lutheran reformers considered God’s unchanging faithfulness to his Word as central to the gospel.
